An Introduction to Ministers Care

Written by Jill Moltumyr

Ministers, the work you do is incredibly important. Every phone call you take and word of encouragement you bring makes a difference in someone’s life. Every moment you spend preparing a sermon is an investment in the spiritual life of those who hear it. Every battle you encounter is another moment where God, once again, does something amazing through your story.

Your calling matters. We know there is an enemy who would like nothing more than to keep the Gospel message from being shared. Since you, a messenger sent by God, are the mouthpiece, the enemy would like nothing more than to silence you in any way possible. But you are part of something so much greater than your solo fight. You have a group of Christ followers and ministers ready to link arms with you as you walk through the journey of life and ministry.

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.” (1 Corinthians 12:4-6 ESV)

We are all part of the body of Christ. The ultimate goal is to see us working together, building one another up however God has equipped us. “He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.” (Ephesians 4:16 NLT). When we work together to encourage and lift one another up, the entire body gets healthy. The unified body grows not only in health but in lives changed for God. We become full of love which is an unstoppable force.

The enemy knows this and is working together to thwart what God is doing in and through us. But this battle is not something we have to do alone. God is with each of us leading the way and strengthening us for this exact moment. God’s also given us one another to surround each other during different seasons of life. We celebrate all that God is doing in some seasons and partner together in prayer and encouragement during difficult seasons. We are not meant to do life or ministry alone, that is why we come together as ministers to advocate for one another.

The TNMN Ministers Care team is here to encourage and support you as you minister to those to whom God has called you. We are dedicated to offering holistic care to the TNMN ministers and their families, ensuring their well-being through personal and professional guidance, education, encouragement, and counseling, as you serve the churches of our Network. This space will continue be filled with helpful articles about the things you encounter as a minister and ministry family. Our hope and prayer is that you’ll find encouragement in difficult moments as well as helpful information that will strengthen you as you walk in strength with God.

If you ever need a person to come alongside you, please feel free to reach out to us at ministerscare@tnaog.org or connect with your Sectional Ministers Care team member. We are here to partner with you!
