TN Network Update — 06/11/2026

Don and Jacquie Cartledge recently returned from Cuba with both a burden and an encouragement: conditions are increasingly difficult, but the Church continues to shine brightly.

Conditions across Cuba continue to deteriorate. Electricity is unavailable much of the time, with outages sometimes lasting up to forty hours and commonly occurring for around twenty hours each day. Fuel, food, and clean water remain scarce, and sanitation issues have become increasingly severe. Garbage has accumulated in many communities, often being burned to control rats and insects, and a hepatitis outbreak has emerged in some areas due to unsanitary conditions. At the same time, tourism—one of Cuba's primary sources of income—has largely come to a standstill as very few foreigners are entering the country.

In the midst of these difficulties, the Church continues to stand strong. Don and Jacquie visited approximately ten churches during their trip and found congregations that are growing and serving their communities in meaningful ways. In many areas, local churches have become a primary source of food distribution and practical support. The spiritual atmosphere remains encouraging, and during ministry services they saw 10–15 people respond to God's call to global missions work each time they preached.

There is widespread expectation among many Cubans that significant governmental change may be on the horizon. Until then, pastors and church leaders continue to serve faithfully despite constant shortages and difficult living conditions. After more than forty ministry trips to Cuba, Don shared that he has never seen the nation facing challenges of this magnitude.

Please continue to pray for the people of Cuba, for strength and encouragement for pastors and church leaders, for provision amid ongoing shortages, and for the Church to remain steadfast and effective as it ministers in the face of overwhelming adversity.

America Prays 250 Prayer Initiative

We’ve added a new page to our website with more information and resources for the A/G prayer initiative, America Prays 250. See it here. As our nation approaches the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, this initiative is a call for churches and believers across the country to come together in prayer for spiritual awakening, unity, and hope.

You can visit the page to learn more about the vision of America Prays 250, explore available resources, and find ways your church can participate.

This is the largest prayer endeavor in the history of our fellowship:
